The race in Champéry has been marked by a technical circuit, that has become tougher due to the rain fallen in the previous days. Jose has been always fighting around the 15th position, although he has been able to pass some riders as laps went by. In the end, top 10 for the rider from Puigcerdà. “I am happy. The result is not too good, but I have felt much better than last Sunday. It has been a race where we have all had problems because of the circuit conditions”, explains the Multivan-Merida rider.

Jose has pointed out how equal the level is between the top riders this year. “You have to check the results and read between the lines. You cannot get crazy about a day like today. The equality in the competition is brutal and you have to be perfect to win a race. Only if your body, mind and material are 100%, you will have chances to get the victory. If you just have a good day, you can say goodbye to the podium spots. I had my day in Houffalize and I hope to have another day like that this season”, Jose comments.

Hermida is now 4th in the overall classification, where the gaps between the top riders have decreased, with two World Cups to be raced and all the podium spots to be decided. The first of them, next weekend in Val di Sole. We’ll keep you posted.
