Jose Antonio Hermida has raced at the Merida Bike Vysocina this weekend, a competition held in Czech Republic and that is part of the National Czech Cup. Jose has finished in seventh spot after 3 days of racing, getting some quality training that will help him recover his best level.
Jose has been at the Merida Bike Vysocina, taking part in a 3 days competition that will be very useful to increase his form for the second part of the season. After the third World Cup in Offenburg, the Multivan-Merida rider took a week of rest and has come back to training this week: “It has been a good week, putting a lot of kilometers in my legs together with a few guys from team Garmin, who are training in my area, getting ready for the Tour”, explains the man from Puigcerdà. Jose has been riding with Millar, Vande Velde, Page… and will train again with them this week.
In what comes to the competition, Jose has found himself with the lack of intensity of the last two weeks, in a race he won in 2009. “I won here last year but the race was organized one month later, so I was in better shape. This year I have suffered a lot, with three very intensive tests in which I have pushed full gas. In the sprint race on friday I was not feeling good, but I was able to be 4th on Saturday XC race. I have ridden the 44kms of today together with my team mate van Houts, and we have enjoyed a good quality training”.
Now Jose faces two weekends without competition, before racing the Racer Cup in Bern, the last test before the European Championships and the next World Cups in the end of july.
