Hermida will not remember this race as one of the best in his life. After a bad start and some grip problems, Jose has lost all options to be in the leading group. “Kabush has pushed me to the lateral barriers and I have had to brake in order to save that situation. After that I was already back around the 20th position. We have also got some rain during the morning and my wheels were sliding too much” commented the rider from Puigcerdà.

After this, Jose has decided to reset his mind in order to solve his problems. “I have decided to stop and and decrease the pressure in my tires. It was a matter of investing 25 seconds, but that would allow me to go faster if my grip was better, as it has been. Moreover, I have started to feel better in the second part of the race. From going 17th , I have been able to climb to the 9th position”, explained a satisfied Hermida.

Next week, Jose will be at the Houffalize World Cup: “today I have ended the race with a lot of power in my legs, with the two last laps at a very fast pace, that have allowed me to pass a few riders. This gives me good vibrations for Houffalize. I have been told that the track is slightly different, but I am sure it will be great. I am looking forward to racing there, where I achieved one of my most valuable victories”, explains the Multivan-Merida rider.
