Today the national racing calendar was starting in one of the most famous races in the national scene: Banyoles. The level of riders is always very high and Jose has travelled to this race held close to Girona with the goal of enjoying another quality trainning session that will allow him to increase his form thinking in the World Cups, that are getting closer.

The track was in very demanding conditions, with a lot of mud, due to the snow fallen last week. This has made the course much more dangerous. Jose has crashed in the first lap due to this slippery conditions. In this accident, Jose has lost a few seconds that have brought the Multivan-Merida rider to rear positions. "My race has been marked by the crash. I have not been able to control my bike and I have crashed, losing momentally one of my shoes. I have lost many positions and I have lost contact with the front group. From there, I have been pushing to pass as many riders as possible. I have felt good and this makes me feel satisfied with this result. Moreover, I feel happy for my knee, that worked perfectly well today and that seems to be OK after the tendonitis I have suffered this winter", commented Hermida.

This is the last test before leaving to South Africa to take part in the Cape Epic, a competition Jose has raced a few times and that will help be used as a preparation for the first World Cups.
