Season is almost finished and Hermida will give it all in this last World Cup in order to be up in one of the podium spots of this top world competition. It would be the 5th time to get it in his pro career in the Elite category. This competition, that he already won as U-23, is one of the of the objectives in the season and Hermida has shown his determination being the first leader in 2009, after his victory in Pietermaritzburg, and the second position overall until last weekend. In Champéry, a crash and the mechanical problem caused by it, brought him to finish 13th in the race and go down to the 4th position in the overall standings.

However, the Multivan-Merida rider knows that this is the moment to give it all: “I am down to the 4th position due to the problems in the last sunday’s race. But this is part of the game. This saturday we will live a hard battle where we will all defend our position and we will attack the riders over us in the classification. We all know the track well; it is a short and not too technical course, although it is extremely steep, typical from a ski station. Moreover, it is possible that rain appears, what would make it become even more demanding. I have always felt good here and I hope to get a good result”.

Hermida will race next saturday and this competition will be the end of his racing calendar for 2009.
