After getting the leadership in the UCI ranking at mid next week, Hermida was travelling to Madrid on thursday in order to join the rest of the Spanish squad. On Friday, some controls were done and the group went for a trainning session.

On Friday afternoon it was the time to leave to Sydney via London-Singapore, what meant a long trip that has finished this morning at 6:00 a.m (Australian time). From there, still 5 hours by car to do the 300 km that separate Sydney from Canberra.

Hermida explained before the trip that “I feel satisfied with the way I have prepared this objective. My health is good and I have had no big problems, apart from a couple of details: a soft cold and the sting of a bee that has left me with a swollen ankle. But, luckily, nothing really important. In what comes to my shape for the Worlds, I know that I can feel the lack of races in the last weeks but, on the other hand, I have rested and that’s also very important. I am very motivated and the regularity that I am having this season gives me the tranquility to be sure that I am ready to be in front; I have my chances to do something big. And that means a lot”.
