Jose is optimistic and excited: “I face this race with a very positive mentality, mainly because of the tranquility and morale that the last results have given to me. Getting a silver medal at the European Championships is a clear sign that my shape is good enough to fight for the title, although this is not enough to get the victory. I am looking forward to fighting for the win, after last year I could not arrive in good condition due to some physical problems”.

Apart from racing for the national title jersey, the Multivan-Merida rider sees this race as another test towards the two coming World Cups.

Moreover, Hermida will wear officially the definitive version of his gloves, Hermida Signature Series, a new project we will keep you informed of. Hermida already used a final prototype at the European Champs, and yesterday he received the final version, just in time for such an important race like the National Champiosnhips: “I am very happy they are ready. It has been many months of prototypes, tests and final touches, and I was excited about wearing the final version in such a special race. I am sure they will help me out there in the race”.

Hermida will arrive at Barcelona tomorrow morning and will have a look at the circuit in the afternoon.
