Heading into the race as the Worldcup’s leader, José Hermida rode in the leading positions for the first half of the race before he had to pay for a cold he had been suffering from the days before the race. Completely exhausted, he stepped out of the race and therefore also lost the Worldcup’s white leader jersey to Julien Absalon.

José Antonio Hermida se ha tenido que retirar de la segunda prueba de la World Cup que se ha disputado hoy en Offenburg por motivo del gran constipado que tenía. Aunque durante la primera mitad de la competición ha estado con el grupo delantero, a dos vueltas de finalizar, el dolor de cabeza y muscular ha hecho imposible que el hasta hoy líder de la World Cup pudiera seguir en carrera y por tanto se ha visto obligado a retirarse.
