In Sunday’s crosscountry race, Ralph Näf pedaled away from all others together with his compatriot Martin Gujan who could not keep up with Näf’s speed and eventually got passed by Moritz Milatz and Jochen Käß. With José Hermida finishing in fifth, Rudi van Houts in 9th and Hannes Genze in 10th, more than half of the top10 positions went to athletes of the «Multivan Merida Biking Team». Such a team record is highly unusual in mountain bike races with such a high-quality line-up as in Münsingen. This is proof of the extraordinarily high class within the team, delivering a promising vantage point for Offenburg’s Worldcup race on next Sunday.

On Saturday evening, Ralph Näf already managed to win the shortrace. In a display of clever team tactics, he grabbed the victory while José Hermida and Moritz Milatz seized the remaining two podium spots. Näf has repeatedly proved to be a specialist for this kind of spectator-friendly races: The Swiss rider is unbeaten in this kind of races for more than one year now.
