The MULTIVAN MERIDA rider once again showed that he is up with the best and proved his mettle by dominating almost the entire race, although without differences which could be considered definitive. The duel in the Catalan circuit was the unexpected battle between two Spanish riders, Hermida and Álvarez, who first united to wear down France’s Julien Absalon and who then went on to delight the large crowd with and exhibition of energy and stamina which lead to the victory, on the last lap, of the Madrid rider. Even so, Hermida finished the race extremely happy with his second place and even more so with his new MÉRIDA.

At the end of the race, the Puigcerdá rider told us “I am happy because, as the race progressed I felt extremely comfortable and I can say that last year’s cog-teeth problem has been totally solved. I’ve been able to test it on site today. With respect to the race, I recognise that I lacked that final spark which you need to win races, and that’s because it was my first competition of the season. I hope to get it back soon so I can be there fighting to win.”
