The aspirations of the Puigcerdá rider, in his own words are "to be in the top ten or top fifteen" and to finally rid himself of last year’s bad luck in the world cup, where he came in at twenty-fifth. Hermida knows that fighting to win the race will be impossible due to his position at the starting line, but he is not renouncing his chances of being among the top riders if things go well. The Multivan Merida athlete also told us "this will be a race where, in theory, there’s no mud, as the land is very grassy, and unlike Belgium there’s no clay". He has his tactics well-worked out, although it is more than likely that the Spanish riders will be working as a team "I think we’ll be able to work in a team so as to be able to place one of our own among the best, or more than one". The man from Puigcerdá knows he’s going to not only enjoy this race, but give his all, without forgetting that for him, the big goals in mountain biking are up and coming.
