The rider from Puigcerdá is highly motivated for the Australian race and did not travel to the antipodes for a holiday. This final event for the MULTIVAN MÉRIDA rider is highly important as he hopes to demonstrate to himself, as much as to his followers that he can still keep up with the best.

His last two races on the Beijing circuit provided him with extra motivation as, in his own words “I was going like a rocket”. Hermida does not expect to win the World Cup, however it is his objective to “finish well”, as he is a proud rider. For him, Canberra and the final race in Austria are highly important and he will give his all to be in the highest position possible.

“I am not going to stop trying in the last two races left in the World Cup. The last two rounds of the Olympic race are my motivation and I went like a rocket back then. Although I do not aspire to winning the World Cup I am going to give everything I’ve got on both circuits as I hope to show to myself that I can keep up with the front runners. Winning or not depends on a lot of things, but I hope to be among the best. This is sport, and if you are good you win and you also have to know how to accept it when things turn out contrary to your wishes, said Hermida.
