The spanish rider was highly active during the entire race, and together with France’s Julien Absalon, led a spectacular race in the Casa de Campo circuit in Madrid.

Hermida, who was extremely enthusiastic about competing in Madrid has once again demonstrated that he has the situation well under control and that he would slowly continue to improve his level, as he himself had foreseen.

At the very start of the race the current cross-country Spanish and European champion told reporters “it has been a shame not to have been able to win here, it would have been wonderful, especially for my fans who supported me throughout the race. It has been a great race and I really enjoyed myself. Julien came on in the last lap on a curve and I was unable to respond. I am happy, as just as I said; little by little I am gaining what I need to be up there. I would personally like to thank Madrid, the organisation and all the fans who came to Casa de Campo, all the support I have received during this fantastic weekend. Racing at home is always good, but racing in Madrid is even better”.
